Type Locality and Naming

Along the Karatan River, South Fergana. A.D. Miklouho-Maclay in 1960 (176, p. 24). Stratotype in the interfluve of the Shunk and Shuran rivers.

Synonym: Karatanginian Suite, Каратангинская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Interbedded sandstones, clayey slates, rare conglomerates, limestones. Thickness 800-1200m.

Conformably overlies the Yangak Fm

Unconformably overlain by the Akterek Fm
